Are you psyched? Silly question, huh? Of course you are ... even if you don't really know it ... remember that subliminal message stuff???? There was a purpose to that mail. Just to remind everyone: PIG ROAST '96 is Saturday, September 7, 1996. We used to do the RSVP thing, but I just don't have the time to take them this year, so you're all on the honor system. It's time for everyone to start thinking about what they're going to bring. It's customary for people to bring a side-dish or a desert or snack or something. Last time, I was very clear that I didn't want everyone to bring potato salad. We wanted some variety. Well, to my knowledge, no one brought potato salad. Yes, we were potato salad-less in 1994. But, there was plenty of other great stuff. This year, we'd like SOME potato salad, so here's the process that you must go through BEFORE deciding to bring potato salad. This should limit the number of potato salads that we get, while still allowing a tollerable amount: First, pick 3 numbers between 1 and 40. Then see if they match any numbers from that night's Mass Millions, Mass Cash, or whatever lottery happens to be in your area. If they match, you can bring potato salad. If they don't match, you had better bring something home-made. [Oh, the above applies to Macaroni Salad as well.] We'll be supplying THE PIG, beer, soda, juice, ice, condiments, utensiles, music, and the location. We might even have some burgers or hot dogs for the grill (oh, yeah, we'll also supply a grill). I've ordered a 160 lb. pig for the occasion. Approximate cooking time is 18 hours, so we'll be up all night preparing your feast. Of course not everyone will eat the pig. If you're not planning on eating pig, you should probably bring something else, although there is usually a lot of great foods ... including vegetarian dishes. I'm not feeling much like writing tonight, so I won't go on about some useless thing. Maybe next time I'll give you my disertation on stupidiy. I could go on for hours about that topic. If you have any good, stupid stories, please send them to me and maybe I'll include them next time. Help stomp out stupidity ... slap an idiot up-side the head. As Red Dog would say, "Be cool. Let your tongue hang out!" Later, Rob and the rest of the Pig Roast '96 committee ###################################################################### Standard Disclaimer: If you're sitting there, asking yourself, who the heck is sending me this stupid mail about some stupid party that I wouldn't be caught dead at, well, just ask around ... I'm sure someone you work with has attended a Pig Roast in the past. They'll tell you how much fun it is and how you should NOT miss it for anything in the world. This is a family event, so those of you with children (any age), need not dismiss this party right from the start. If you *STILL* don't care about our Pig Roast, and want to be removed from this distributioin list, please just reply to me and let me know. I appologize to those who's time I have wasted. Offer good while supplies last. I did not, intentionally, leave anyone off the master distribution list. I appologize to those that were omitted. If you know of anyone to be added, please have them send me email at ROCK::MUELLER or mueller@rock.enet.dec.com. For those of you who have not been to a Pig Roast in the past, and want to learn more, check out the Pig Roast '94 home page: http://segflt.hlo.dec.com/~mueller/pig/pigroast_94.html [Sorry, this is internal to Digital Only!] This page contains a post mortem of Pig Roast '94 as well as some interesting facts like: 160 lbs [minus head, bones, fat, etc ...] of Pig were consumed in about 1.5 hours. It took over 18 hours and about 3/4 cord of wood to cook the Pig. The Pig Roast '96 Home Page is coming soon!
